What times do your tours depart?
Our tours depart every day  at  7am in Summer and 8am in winter. Except for the Tour No. 3

Do we need to make a reservation in advance?
We do not require advance reservations (except for Tour No.3) However, there are times when we do sell-out. We recommend making reservations in advance so that you will have the greatest selection of tours.

What is the minimum age for children on your tours?
For the safety of your child, the minimum age is 18 months.

What is your cancellation policy?
We have a 50% cancellation charge for less than 24 hours notice. There is no cancellation charge for more than 24 hours notice.

What should we bring/wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing, which includes sturdy hiking or tennis shoes, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen. Also remember to bring bottled water and camera.

Do you have water on the vehicles or should we bring our own?
The vehicles do carry water; however, it is only accessible when the vehicle is stopped. We do recommend bringing bottled water.

Do you offer hiking tours?
Our no. 1 Tour has the optional hiking experience that is either 20 minutes or 40 minutes long. Your Guide will customize your hiking tour based on your abilities and personal preferences.

Can you pick me up at my hotel?
We will pick-you up in our 15 passenger shuttle. The Customer Service/Sales representative can help coordinate a pick-up for you when you make your reservation.

What happens if it rains?
Our tours operate rain or shine. If the weather conditions are severe causing the trails to be unsafe, we would offer to switch your tour, reschedule, or give you a refund.

Are there restrooms on the tours?
We have restrooms at our office, at the “El Pinacate Visitor Center”, and at the main entrance of the National Park. We highly recommend using the restroom prior to your tour departure.

Is it customary to tip the driver and if so, how much?
Yes, it is customary to tip your guide. The usual gratuity is10%. We can add the gratuity to your charge card or you can tip your guide directly.

Can we bring our lunch and eat on the vehicle?
We do not allow food or glass containers on the vehicles. If you have small children, you may want to bring a snack for the longer tours and keep your trash contained.

Where do we check-in for our tour?
All of our tours depart from the lobbies of your hotel or we can depart from our office which is located at Blvd Benito Juarez #401.(near circle K)

Will there be other people on the tour with my family?
Our tours often maximize each vehicle to accommodate all of our customers. Most likely there will be other people on the vehicle with a maximum capacity of 15 passengers.

Can I get a private tour?
Yes, private tours are available. Please contact our Customer Service/Sales representatives or call us (638-388-8500) or visit www.sonorandeserttours.com

How much walking is involved on your Ancient Ruin Tour?
This tour involves approximately 1/2 mile of walking.

How far is Puerto Penasco from “El Pinacate”?
El Pinacate is only 20 miles East  of Puerto Penasco. 

Do you offer discounts and how do I take advantage of them?
We offer AAA members a discount as well as a repeat customer discount and a "Locals" discount to all adults showing proof of residency of Puerto Penasco.

Do you have any hotel packages?
We are working with Hotel Owners to offer discounts on package deals.

Do you offer a senior discount?
Our adult rates are based on all passengers 13 years and older. Seniors can take advantage of our AAA discount or a 10% repeat customer discount.

Do you offer AAA discounts?
We do offer AAA members a 10% discount on all tours.  AAA membership card required to receive discount.
